With Heart Foundation was established in 2009 by the founders of Gloria Jean’s Coffees and is steadfast in its commitment to global and local humanitarian projects. The Foundation will act as an umbrella for all their charity partners. All the funds raised will be distributed with heart to their various humanitarian projects. This means that they are not focused on one particular charity but instead enlarging their vision to expand their effectiveness in the community. Gloria Jean’s Coffees International Foundation is based in Sydney, Australia. Their partnership with various not-for-profit organisations allows them to have an impact locally, nationally as well as globally. Their coffee houses all across the world are united in their vision and purpose. Their focus will always be on making the world a better place by having a belief in people, building and changing lives and empowering them with opportunities to enrich their lives. They have a big vision to accomplish and together, they can change the world one sip at a time.

Opportunity International Australia

Opportunity International Australia is a non-profit organisation that uses a business approach to solve the problem of poverty. Rather than a hand-out, they provide people living in poverty with a loan as small as $200 to help them start or grow their own business. This enables them to earn a regular income so they no longer have to struggle to afford food, clean water or proper shelter for their families.

With more than 35 years of experience working with the poor, Opportunity International Australia is a leading provider and pioneer of microfinance and support services. Their aim is to see people lifted out of poverty permanently.

On the 16th & 17th October 2009, the Cappuccino for a Cause campaign successfully ran in all Gloria Jean’s Coffee houses Australia wide. Over the two days, 50 cents from every purchase of a Cappuccino or Iced Cappuccino was donated to the work of Opportunity International in West Timor, Indonesia.

History of Gloria Jean's Coffees

Gloria Jean's Coffees was founded by Gloria Jean Kvetko in 1979 in Chicago, USA. Gloria Jean's Coffees began as a small coffee and gift shop in Chicago, USA which now has over 110 locations throughout the U.S. Gloria Jean's Coffees USA is owned by Diedrich Coffee, Inc located in Irvine, California.

In 1995, Nabi Saleh and Peter Irvine,former Managing Director of advertising agency DDB Needham, visited the United States to sample the Gloria Jean's Coffees brand. Saleh and Irvine identified the opportunity for this brand in Australia, purchasing the international licensing rights from Diedrich Coffee, Inc.

Saleh and Irvine established Jireh International Pty Ltd (trading as Gloria Jeans Coffee), the company that holds the right to franchise Gloria Jean's Coffees in Australia, and purchased the rights to the Gloria Jean's Coffees brand for all other countries from Diedrich Coffee, Inc, with the exceptions of the USA and Puerto Rico.

In late 1996, Jireh International Pty Ltd opened the first Gloria Jean's Coffees store in Miranda, Sydney, and two weeks later another in Eastgardens, also in Sydney. These stores were set up to test the concept in the Australian market.

In early 1998, Gloria Jean's Coffees Australia franchised its first store and within six years had opened 185 stores owned and operated by more than 100 franchisees. In 2003, a franchise opened in Darwin; this meant that the brand was now established in every Australian state and territory.

Jireh International Pty Ltd formed a North American Affiliate, Praise International North America, Inc. and as of June 14, 2009, the North American rights were sold by Diedrich Coffee to the American Affiliate of the Australian holding company

Flat white coffee

No coffee is more "OZ" than flat white coffee. A flat white is a coffee beverage from Australia and New Zealand. It is prepared by pouring microfoam (steamed milk from the bottom of a pitcher) over a single (30ml) or double shot (60ml) of espresso. It is similar to the latte and the café au lait and like other espresso based beverages it can be interpreted various ways.

The beverage is typically served in a small 150-160ml ceramic cup. Microfoam is used, resulting in a smooth and velvety texture. A flat white may incorporate latte art.

Flat white coffee is one of the most favorite product in Gloria jean's coffee, famous for its mild taste and beautiful aroma. It is 'coffeelicious'!
